For a long time men had little choice when it came to shoes, and even less choice in men’s bowls shoes, with strict rules about styles and colours of footwear being enforced by both Federation regulations and peer pressure at club level.

But men’s fashion has moved on and many of the current trends in men’s sportswear have filtered through to men’s bowls shoes and gentleman lawn bowlers of all ages are welcoming the new style trends in men’s bowls shoes with open arms. Nowadays it’s possible to buy a pair of trainer style men’s bowls shoes that would look right at home in any modern gym. But for those who like to keep things traditional, the more conventional styles can still be found.

Welkin Men’s Bowls Shoes

Welkin is a British company which has been making quality sports footwear for over 50 years and more recently has chosen to specialise in the bowls market.

Our choice from the Welkin range is the Welkin Winner Shoe, a luxurious moccasin style shoe in soft napa leather. Available in White or Grey, sizes 6 to 12.

Ideal for someone who wants something more relaxed than the conventional shoe style but doesn’t like the trainer style.

Emsmorn Men’s Bowls Shoes

Emsmorn is another British company with a well established reputation for bowls footwear and luggage.

We’ve chosen 4 models from the Emsmorn Freestyle range. All Freestyle models feature wider fitting and offer exceptional support and comfort. The light weight and flexible PU sole unit provides good grip in wet or dry conditions. A unique feature, loved by our customers, is the half size girth adjustment which helps ensure a correct fit for both feet. An anti-fungal inner sole liner reduces odour. 

The Emsmorn Freestyle Quantum is a relaxed semi-moccasin style slip-on shoe with needlepunch holes in the front panel for breath-ability and soft napa leather for flexibility. Available in White, Grey or Tan and sizes 7 to 11.

The Emsmorn Freestyle Capricorn is a conventional slip-on style shoe in soft napa leather. Available in White or Grey and sizes 7 to 11.

The Emsmorn Freestyle Taurus is also highly traditional, this time in a lace up style and with napa leather upper. Available in White, Grey or Tan and sizes 7 to 12 depending on colour.

Finally, the Emsmorn Freestyle Premier offers a semi-trainer style with Velcro fastening. Available in White or Grey and sizes 7 to 11.

Greenz Men’s Bowls Shoes

Greenz are a New Zealand company whose pedigree for top quality sports footwear can be traced back over 50 years.

For our men’s range we’ve selected the Greenz Bias, a semi-moccasin style lace up in leather with needlepunched front panel. It will appeal to the bowler who wants a generally conventional shoe but who doesn’t like to feel as though he’s wearing his office shoes to bowl. Available in White, Grey or Tan and sizes 6 to 12 with several half sizes.

ComfitPro Men’s Bowls Shoes

The ComfitPro group of companies makes and sells bowls shoes, bags and accessories in all the major bowling nations (UK, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa). A relatively young company, their designs tend towards the more modern and fashionable, while still managing to win the endorsement of established names such as John Bell and Mary Price.

So it’s no surprise that ComfitPro bowls shoes tend towards the modern, offering a range of up to the minute trainer style bowls shoes. We sell 3 mens models, all lace ups with leather interiors: the ComfitPro Achieva (White, sizes 6 to 12), the ComfitPro Reactive (White with dark grey detailing, sizes 7 to 8) and the ComfitPro Saturn (White with grey detailing, sizes 7 to 12).

Henselite Men’s Bowls Shoes

Henselite is an Australian company that began making wooden bowls in 1918. But if you’re expecting traditional style from a company of that pedigree you’d be wrong. Henselite have been modernisers and innovators from an early stage, producing the world’s first rubber bowl almost immediately and the first solid plastic bowl in 1931. And they have continued their innovative approach to design in all their products including clothing, accessories, bags and footwear.

Our choice is the Henselite Tiger Sports, a leather lace up trainer with side detailing in light grey. Available in White, sizes 6 to 12.

Drakes Pride Mens Bowls Shoes

Drakes Pride is the only English bowls manufacturer and although Drakes Pride in its present form came into existence as recently as 1982, they emerged from a history of companies dating back to the 1820’s. They make a complete range of bowling equipment, accessories and footwear.

In terms of style, Drakes Pride men’s bowls shoes cover the whole spectrum from traditional to ultra-modern and lots in between.

Our choice from the Drakes Pride range is the Drakes Pride Solar, a lace up trainer style shoe. Although it’s a trainer it’s not trying to make a fashion statement, having very restrained detailing. Ideal for the bowler who wants a modern shoe but doesn’t want to attract a lot of attention. Available in White, Grey or Tan, sizes 6 to 12.
